the villages. From Village Agricultural/Horticultural shows to Fetes to
Music Festivals to Horse Trials and Fireworks.
Many of the events are superb for family days out.

ALNWICK
End June - The annual ALNWICK
FAIR. Costumes and re enactments of a fair that dates back to the middle
ages. Day and night events. Be careful if you walk in the square though
- the ducking stool awaits those that loiter. All good fun.
End July - the annual CASTLE
TOURNAMENT. Horsemen, helicopter rides, attractions, aerobatics.
August - the annual ALNWICK
INTERNATIONAL MUSIC FESTIVAL. Week long music and dance from groups from
around the world. Lots of events during the week during the day and
night.
Mid August - the annual ALNWICK
CASTLE HORSE DRIVING TRIALS & COUNTRY FAIR. Dressage, obstacle
courses and marathons make these interesting days for the family. See
some famous names driving their horses and carriages. Lots of stands,
side shows. Pony Club activities.
Early November - annual traditional ALNWICK
NORTHUMBRIAN GATHERING. Music
ALWINTON
Mid October - probably one of the oldest
annual events in the District is the BORDER SHEPHERDS' SHOW. Fun for all
the family with displays, sheep dogs, stalls, Crafts.
AMBLE
Begin June - Amble community CARNIVAL.
Processions, Music, Acrobats, Children's fun fair, etc.
Begin July - The annual SEA FAYRE. Live
entertainment for all the family.
HARBOTTLE
Early September - the annual HARBOTTLE SHOW
with Crafts, stalls, pony games, wrestling, ceilidh.
INGRAM
Mid September - the annual INGRAM SHOW
includes the Hill Race and other events. Pony Trials, Dog show, stalls,
etc.
POWBURN
Early August - the annual POWBURN SHOW. Fun for
all the family. Animals and horticulture.
ROCK AND RENNINGTON
Late August - the annual SCARECROW

ROTHBURY
Mid June - Rothbury Tractor rally.
Vintage Tractors, Cars and motorbikes.
Mid July - the annual TRADITIONAL
MUSIC FESTIVAL Competitions, Pipe bands, workshops, Dancing, Fiddles,
etc.
WALLINGTON
Late August - Wallington Hall SHINDIG. Rock

WHITTINGHAM
WHITTINGHAM - the delightful annual Whittingham Show is on Saturday 16th August 2003. It will
be an exciting day out with Pony Sports, Sheepdog Trials, Athletics, Dog Show and many Trade Stands.

WOOLER
Late July - The annual WOOLER
CARNIVAL. Fun days for all.
Monday the 25th of August - The annual GLENDALE SHOW. A
super day out for all. Agricultural/Horticultural, dogs, farm animals,
lots of stalls and events. The showground is south of Wooler.
