Alnwick Castle

Alnwick Castle is described as " The Windsor of the North". It is the home of the Duke of Northumberland. This year visitors will be able to see the plans - and actually see the work going on - of the Magnificent gardens that Jane, Duchess of Northumberland is creating.

CASTLE OPENING

The Duke of Northumberland after carefully considering the current situation has announced that Alnwick Castle will be open from -
 1st April - 26th of October 2001
11.00 am - 17.00 pm (last admission 16.15 pm)

(It should be noted that opening of the castle is subject to the current foot and mouth outbreak remaining clear of our area - Visitors must expect to take any precautions required by the Northumberland Estates during this period)

The Tearoom and Gift shop open at 10.00 am 

As you walk around the wonderful rooms, there are guides to tell you about the many antiques, paintings and history of the Castle.

Northumberland Estates regret that during the current foot and mouth outbreak, the Hulne Park area is closed to Visitors. However, this will be re - opened as soon as it is prudent to do so.
