By Rail: Travel to Alnmouth (about 1 mile from Alnmouth in Hipsburn) railway stations on the East Coast Main Line
By Air: Fly to Newcastle Airport or Edinburgh Airport then take a taxi or hire a car. The Newcastle Airport is circa 45 minutes from Alnmouth.
By Road: Travel on the A1 heading North out of Newcastle upon Tyne - or south from Berwick Upon Tweed.
Either take one of the signposted country roads or drive to Alnwick and take the road to Alnmouth. Other roads from the Borders, Castle Morpeth or Tynedale/Hadrian's Wall areas lead to Alnmouth via Rothbury and  Alnwick.
By Sea: Take a ferry to NEWCASTLE from Bergen, Haugesund, Stavanger on Fjordline
By Sea: Take a ferry to NEWCASTLE from Ijmuiden, Kristiansand on DFDS ferries
By Sea: Take a ferry to HULL from the Netherlands or Belgium on NORTH SEA Ferries . Hull is approx 3 hours by road.
Generally: Edinburgh is approx 2 hours by car. The Lake District approx 2.5 hrs by car. Visit Durham and York, or a day out in the Yorkshire Dales can be fun. A day out in Edinburgh or Newcastle from Alnmouth Rail Station is easy ! Arrangements can be made for Cycle Hire, Taxis or Car Hire.
